Jim here. I want you to know that I care about your wellbeing, and in this time of increased vigilance surrounding the ongoing spread of COVID-19, I wanted to give you an update about the precautions at my practice.
It has taken me a bit of time to arrive at this plan, and I am grateful for your patience.
My intention is to remain available for the foreseeable future by shifting to online meetings after this week and I will let you know of any changes to this plan. If you want to meet in person, I am also still open to that. I will do everything advised by public health services. I am keeping close track of the notifications of the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Nova Scotia Health Authority. I recommend that clients keep up to date on new notifications.
If you have an appointment booked this week, Monday March 16, 2020 to Friday, March 20, 2020 I will meet you at my (newly sanitized) office. If you are uncomfortable meeting face to face, that is entirely understandable. I do have an alternative: meeting via Zoom Meetings. This online app is like Skype or Facetime, and is free for you to use. If you would like to meet this way, either this week or going forward while social distancing measures are in place, get in touch via email and I will send you an event link.
Those of you who would like to come in, you may not believe it, but I have been cleaning! Here is an outline of what I am doing, as well as guidelines for all clients
As a precautionary measure, I have removed all magazines from the clinic waiting area.
The waiting area, doorknobs, and the bathroom will be sanitized on a daily basis.
I will wash my hands with soap and water, before and after every meeting.
I will refrain from greeting you by shaking hands, and we will sit at a distance.
I ask that clients please:
Refrain from booking appointments if you have traveled internationally until two weeks after you have returned with no signs of illness.
Wash hands before leaving home and once at the clinic in advance of our meeting using soap and water.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth and face.
Cough or sneeze into your elbow.
If experiencing any cold or flu symptoms, please cancel your appointment. I will happily rebook you within three weeks of your current appointment via zoom meetings.
