The Jimbits Podcast has a new feature. Every Friday I’ll be sharing stories of fuck-ups. Best of all? The stories will detail how fuck-ups have led to lasting, wonderful, unintended results.
Your voice matters
You are a fuck up. You’ve fucked up lots in your life. Some funny, others painful, fuck-ups frequently have unintended wonderful results. Like pacemakers, or penicillin. We need fuck ups to move forward and yet…
Y’all are still trying to be perfect
I blame schooling and the role of institutional education. That bullshit has been getting in the way of experimentation and learning since the educational industrial complex was created to manufacture obedient factory workers and soldiers. Our hyper focus on results pulls us from the process of being and becoming. Our desire to come to the end of things gets in the way of adjusting to and creating from fuck-ups. This is done in the name of ‘quality’ – making things the same, repeatable.
So here we celebrate the fuck ups
I’m doing this partially to heal from the damage created by the capitalist education machine and partially so all y’all stop acting so fucking precious about everything. Yep, life sucks. You have pain. Fuck it. How married to your pain do you want to be? So, as an act of defiance and liberation, I invite you to share your fuck ups here for me to read every Friday on the podcast. There’s a form at the bottom of this post to do just that.
Or you could leave a voice message and have that broadcast
I use an app called Anchor.fm . I don’t get kick backs. I’m not an affiliate. And I love how it lets me record a podcast directly onto my phone. You can use the same thing to record a voice message, or a fucked up story about fucking up.
Tell a story about something you’ve fucked up, how it felt at the time and how, in the end, it worked out it was really the best fucking thing that could have happened. Extra points for TMI warnings about blood and excrement and such other things…
